Mirch Ka Salan

IngrediIent:

  • 250 gm long green chilies.
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds (zera).
  • ½ teaspoon mustard seeds (sarso )
  • ¼ teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi dane)
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon coriander cumin seed powder
  • 2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 6 tablespoon tamarind water.
  • 6 curry leaves.
  • 2 tablespoon fresh chopped coriander.
  • oil for deep frying and gravy.
  • Salt to taste.

Method:

  • For paste
    • 6 cloves of garlic.
    • ½ inch ginger
    • 1 onion
    • 2 tomatoes
    • 3 tablespoon grated coconut.
    • For dry powder
    • 2 tablespoon roasted peanuts
    • 2 tablespoon sesame seeds (til)
    • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds.
    • Now  wash and slit the green chili, remove the seeds and fry in hot oil.
  • Gravy:
    • Heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves.
    • Add the paste and fry, add the turmeric and coriander cumin seed powder,   chili powder and dry masala cook for 2min.
    • Add 2 cup of water and the tamarind water and cook till the paste is thick.
    • Add fried green chilies and salt cook for a few minutes  the gravy should be thick.
    • Garnished  with coriander ,serve hot with chapatti.
